"He used to be made to sit at home" - Mohammad Kaif calls out KKR over Kuldeep Yadav’s treatment!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsCurrently six league matches have completed in the ongoing IPL series.
Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants will clash in the seventh league match that is to be played today.
Chennai had lost their first league match against Kolkata. Similarly, the Lucknow Super Giants too lost their first match against Gujarat.
Thus, in the match between the two teams today (31.03.2022), there is no alternative but to record their first win in the IPL series. Similarly, many players who have been out of form in this IPL series are performing well.
Players coming to form
Dhoni, who has not scored a half-century in the last two IPL seasons, was unbeaten on 50 against Kolkata. Similarly, Kolkata's Umesh Yadav has proved his mettle by taking key wickets in both the matches.
Also, Kuldeep Yadav, who did not get much of a chance in the Indian team, made his debut for the Delhi Capitals, taking 3 important wickets in the match against Mumbai and also bagged the Man of the Match award. The return of many Indian players to their old form has caused a great deal of excitement among the fans.
Criticism of the Kolkata team
Meanwhile, the comments made by Kuldeep Yadav's coach about the Kolkata Knight Riders team a few days back had sparked controversy. In the last few seasons, Kuldeep Yadav who was in the Kolkata team, had the opportunity to play in about 5 to 6 matches. As a result, the cricketer did not get a chance in the Indian team.
Referring to this, Kuldeep's coach Kapil Pandey accused the Kolkata team of treating Kuldeep like a servant. Former India captain Mohammad Kaif has also commented on the Kolkata team.
Sit at home
“Kuldeep Yadav is a proven match-winner. But he is someone who also needs to be managed well. He is a bit emotional and feels low if he isn’t given the bowling or is dropped from the team,” Kaif said. He further added, "The way he was treated at KKR when Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan were the captains, he used to be made to sit at home and not even in the squad. When you behave like this, any match-winner feels the pressure.”
Kuldeep Yadav, who has proved his mettle in the first match of the 2022 IPL series, has been accused by Kolkata fans of wasting him by not giving him much of a chance.
