India and South Africa have played 15 T20 matches. Out of 15, India has won nine times and South Africa six times. The South African cricket team has arrived in India to play in the five-match T20 series. The Indian team is ready to face South Africa in the Paytm T20I Trophy - 1st T20I in Delhi. It will be held on June 9 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, in the absence of retired Rohit Sharma, Rahul has been appointed captain of the Indian team for the domestic T20 series against South Africa.

KL Rahul, who recently captained the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) debut team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, excelled as captain and his Lucknow team finished 3rd in the points table.

Indian national cricket team captain KL Rahul has been ruled out of the five - match T20I series against South Africa due to a hip injury.

Indian selectors have named wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant as the new captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain for the domestic series against South Africa.

Along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have retired from the South Africa series.

Rishabh Pant, the young wicket-keeper-batsman who captained the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been appointed captain for the domestic series against South Africa.

T20 matches will be played at Delhi Arun Jaitley Stadium, Cuttack Barapati Stadium, Visakhapatnam Dr. YSR ACA VTCA Cricket Stadium, Rajkot Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium and Bangalore M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
