KL Rahul has been appointed as the captain of the Lucknow team and Hardik Pandya as the captain of the Gujarat team. KL Rahul, who previously captained the Punjab team, was expected to be retained by the team. But the Punjab team released him. Following this, KL Rahul was acquired by the Lucknow team and gave him the captaincy.
KL Rahul is currently talking about his reasons for leaving the Punjab Kings squad. In it, ‘I have played for the Punjab team for four years. I have traveled a long time with those team players. Thus, it was difficult for me to make a decision regarding team change. But I wanted to continue the new kind of journey with the new team. That is why I have joined the Lucknow team," said KL Rahul.
Earlier, Punjab Kings head coach Anil Kumble had commented on the dismissal of KL Rahul. In it, ‘We appointed KL Rahul as captain two years ago just to retain him. But we respect that he wanted to go to auction. It is important to note that this is a personal right of each player.
