IPL 2022: Iceland Cricket trolls BCCI over Virat Kohli's controversial LBW!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIceland Cricket Board's tweet about the IPL series' umpires mocking the BCCI has caused controversy.
The IPL league match between Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians and Du Plessis-led Royal Challengers took place on Saturday. The manner in which Bangalore player Virat Kohli was dismissed caused a great controversy. Virat Kohli faced the ball in the 19th over of the match. Then the ball seemed to hit the paddle. So the umpire on the field gave the LPW.
Virat Kohli appealed to the third umpire for this. However, the third umpire said that the onfield umpire's decision was correct because the scene on the TV screen was not clear. Following this, Virat Kohli left angrily. This out was also criticized by the fans as he had scored 48 runs at the time.
However, Bangalore beat Mumbai by 7 wickets. The Iceland Cricket Board has mocked and tweeted about Virat Kohli's dismissal.
"It's not easy for on field umpires to detect inside edges or whether ball hit bat or pad first. But every TV umpire should be able to make the right call with the benefit of slow-motion replays and technology like Ultra Edge. @BCCI, We have trained umpires ready to fly over," tweeted Iceland Cricket.
