After 2016, Harbhajan Singh did not get any chances in the international team. He continued to play only in IPL matches and last played for Kolkata.

Later, after announcing his retirement, some of Harbhajan Singh's public comments about the BCCI caused a great deal of controversy.

Two World Cups

Earlier, Harbhajan Singh, who was featured in both the series when India won the 2007 T20 World Cup and subsequently won the Fifty Over World Cup in 2011, was a key player for India. No Indian can easily forget Captain Dhoni finishing the match with a six against Sri Lanka in the final of the 2011 World Cup.

Now, one of the comments made by Harbhajan Singh regarding this World Cup is currently causing a lot of controversy. In the final against Sri Lanka, Sehwag and Sachin were subsequently dismissed. After this, Gambhir, Kohli and Dhoni added runs and helped to win the trophy.

Is Dhoni the only reason?

Throughout the series, Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and many others performed well for the Indian team. However, Harbhajan Singh said that Dhoni is only mentioned as the reason for winning the World Cup. Speaking on a live show before the IPL, Harbhajan Singh said, “When Australia wins the World Cup, the headlines are: ‘Australia won the World Cup’. When India won the World Cup at that time, everyone said, ‘MS Dhoni won the World Cup.

Toh baaki ke 10 waha lassi peene gaye the (Were the remaining ten drinking lassi there)? What did the other 10 players do? What did Gautam Gambhir do? It’s a team game. When 7-8 players play well only then only your team will progress," the former India spinner added.
