The current IPL series is bad for the Chennai Super Kings. Because a few days before the start of the series, Dhoni abruptly resigned as captain. Following this, Jadeja was appointed as the new captain. The CSK team, led by Jadeja, then suffered a series of setbacks, which were expected to be better.

Chennai led Jadeja in the first 8 matches played and won only 2 matches. Due to this, the CSK team's playoff chances are questionable. So Jadeja handed over the captaincy of the Chennai team to Dhoni again. After that, the Chennai team, led by Dhoni, won one and lost one.

Thus the CSK team is almost out of the play-off round of the current series. Former England captain Graeme Swann has praised Jadeja's decision. “We all have our favourite teams to play against and the fact that he has done well against RCB in the past is pretty important. It is such a big thing for Jadeja to admit that ‘look, captaincy is out of my league. I am not comfortable with it. The male ego doesn’t allow you to say it comfortably," Swann remarked.

So, the fact that he has done that and allowed MS to get back in is better for him, CSK and it is good news all around and honestly, I love him. I think he is brilliant. What he gives to any franchise is incredible. CSK would be half the side without him,” Swann had said
