The IPL series has been well received across the world by the cricket fans. This season's series is scheduled to start on March 26th. The mega auction was held on February 12 and 13. Dinesh Karthik was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.
The Bengaluru team, which had previously played under Virat Kohli's captaincy, has announced that he will relinquish the captaincy as he has not won the trophy even once. This had raised the question of who would be the next captain of the Bangalore team. The team management put an end to this on the 12th.
The Bangalore team management has appointed South African player Faf du Plessis as the captain. Plessis, who has already played for Chennai Super Kings and Delhi, is all set to lead Bangalore this time.

Dinesh Karthik and Australian Glenn Maxwell were also named in the Bangalore captaincy selection. Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Karthik said that he had talked to Virat Kohli about playing for Bangalore during the last cricket series against England.
When Karthik was asked if he had slipped a request to Virat Kohli to get him to the RCB to which he admitted that he had made the request. Dinesh Karthik said, "Yeah, I slipped it into him and he said, "you might be talking to the wrong person, bro!".
Also, Dinesh Karthik praised Kohli as the best captain. Karthik, who was the captain of the Kolkata team, was auctioned by the Bangalore team for Rs 5 crore.
The Bangalore team is all set to bang this year with quality hitters like Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik. So the fans are super-excited.
