Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore clashed in yesterday's IPL match in which the toss was won by the captain of the Bangalore team, Du Plessis. Batting first, CSK scored 216 for 4 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube top-scored with 95 and Robin Uthappa with 88.
Batting next, Bangalore scored only 193 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. So CSK won by 23 runs. For Chennai, Mahesh Theekshana took 4 wickets, Jadeja 3 wickets and Bravo and Mukesh Chaudhary took 1 wicket each. Shivam Dube was also awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance in the tournament.
Speaking after the match, Shivam Dube shared the advice given by Dhoni. He said, "I spoke to many seniors - Mahi bhai also helped me to improve the game. He said, 'Just be focused, just be still, just let the skill work in the game.' I wanted to time the ball really well. I tried to maintain my balance."
The CSK team has suffered a series defeat in 4 of the 5 matches they have played so far. This is the first time in the history of the IPL that the Chennai team has lost the first 4 matches in a row. In this context, CSK recorded their first win in the current IPL series by defeating Bangalore yesterday.
