Team India captain Virat Kohli got slammed on social media for his message on Diwali. As the festival of lights began, cricketers from all across the world took to Twitter to wish the fans on the auspicious day.

He posted a 18-second video on Twitter to wish the fans on Diwali saying, “A very happy Diwali from me to you and your families. May God bless you with peace, prosperity and happiness this Diwali. Please remember do not burst crackers, protect the environment and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple Diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion. God bless you all. Take care.”

Meanwhile, Kohli’s message for saving the environment came just a few days after he celebrated his birthday in the UAE with firecrackers. Soon after the video went viral, fans were quick to slam him for his hypocrisy.
