Batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who after a careful 74 in Mumbai, was at his best in Rajkot. Dhawan did not disappoint his fans, he shared a 81-run stand with opener Rohit Sharma. He also took the attack of Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar.
During the match, Dhawan wanted to complete his century with a big shot that left Indian skipper Virat Kohli totally disappointed. The incident happened during the 29th over, when Kane Richardson bowled a delivery to Dhawan; Indian opener hit the ball high and hard and it went straight to Mitchell Starc, who was standing at deep fine leg.
The Australian celebrated on the field while Kohli’s reaction grabbed the eyeballs. He was totally frustrated and then smashed his pad after seeing Dhawan being dismissed.
During this match, India made two changes; they included Manish Pandey and Navdeep Saini in place of Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur.
