"Virat has the right to say whom he wants as coach," says this former Indian cricketer

After prize distribution ceremony for Zee Bangla Football League, speaking to reporters, Ganguly said that “He is the captain so, he has got the right to say" regarding the head coach position.
Earlier, Kohli has said that he would like Ravi Shastri to continue. “The CAC hasn’t contacted me yet. If they want my opinion, I’ll go and speak to them. With Ravi Bhai, we share a great camaraderie, and will definitely be very happy if he continues. But I haven’t been contacted so far,” he said.
Cricket Advisory Committee's co-member Anshuman Gaekwad said regarding Virat's word in the matter that “The captain can say anything. It doesn’t bother us. We are a committee. That’s his opinion and the BCCI takes a note of it, not us."
The BCCI has received about 2000 applications for the position.
