Ever since IPL 2020 has ended, left-arm seamer T Natarajan has been making headlines and rapid strides in the past few weeks.

Weeks after coming in as a replacement for leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy in India’s T20I squad for Australia, T Natarajan has now finally made it to the ODI team as announced by the BCCI.

Team India begin their tour of Australia with the first of the three ODIs on Friday in Sydney.

After Navdeep Saini complained of a back spasm, the BCCI selectors saw it best to include T Natarajan in the squad to compete in the 50-over games. According to a BCCI media release, Saini had complained of "back spasm."

Natrajan, who was picked up merely as a net bowler for the Indian batsmen in the beginning has finally catapulted himself to the squad. This has given him a chance of competing in a considerable number of games in his career.

Natrajan is not much experienced in List A cricket as he has only featured in 15 games and managing 16 wickets at 30.81. So the prospect of being relatively unknown to the Australians gives him an edge.

Talking about his IPL career, T Natarajan was part of SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2020 and for the first time played in the full season. He picked up 16 wickets in 16 games and delivered more than 40 yorkers.
