Will do What Doctors Say: Sourav Ganguly on Coronavirus Preventive Measures During IPL!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly on Friday said the Coronavirus outbreak in the country does not possess any threat to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 schedule.
“IPL is very much on. Everywhere, the tournaments are going on. England are already in Sri Lanka. South Africa are here. There are no issues,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Ganguly, however, added that all the possible precautionary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of players and spectators. "The medical team is constantly in touch with hospitals. All medical issues will be addressed by the medical team. Every tournament will go on." Ganguly said.
India has recorded 31 cases of Coronavirus (including 16 Italian tourists) so far.
On the game front, Defending Champions Mumbai Indians will be taking on Chennai Super Kings in the opening game of the tournament at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on March 29.
