Sourav Ganguly Shares BIG Update on IPL 2021; Check Details on Month, Venue and Auction

The IPL 2020 was delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic and with rising cases in India, it had to be shifted to the UAE that began in September 19. As the year is about to end, BCCI is left with very little time to prepare for the 14th edition of the T20 extravaganza.
There were various speculations on the dates and venue of the 14th edition. But the BCCI President has confirmed that the 2021 edition will take place in the normal April-May window next year and hopes to take place in India.
Moreover, he has also confirmed that the England Team will also tour India and the bio-bubble will be created for the same to take place.
“Yeah, absolutely. April, May we’ll have another one [IPL 2021 season]. No, no it’s not true [the speculations]. The UAE was only for the IPL. Yeah, yeah. We will host England in India. We will host the domestic cricket in India. Ranji Trophy, we will create bio bubble and we will do it. We’ll be fine. ISL starting in November in Goa, we’ll be fine. The scare, that is not there anymore and the IPL has helped a lot. [have taken ] 16 tests covid tests (laughs), so far being good,” Ganguly said while speaking to India Today.
Talking about the massive success that BCCI had after taking part in UAE amid COVID-19, Sourav Ganguly is delighted with the quality of cricket played. He also asserts that he respects the other T20 Leagues across the world.
“Yeah absolutely, it’s the quality of cricket [in the IPL], it’s the madness about cricket in this country. It’s the fans who actually make it successful. And the competition. It’s the quality of player, you go around and see the leagues in the world and I respect them, but this is different [the IPL],” he finally added.
Pointing over the ongoing IPL season, the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will play against the winner of Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who will meet in Qualifier 2 on Sunday. Meanwhile, the season finale will take place on Tuesday (November 10) in Dubai.
