Famous Cricketers Disappointed With ICC's New Change; Express Disapproval On Social Media
Home > News Shots > Sports newsHours after International Cricket Council's (ICC) brought out new idea of Test jerseys with players' names and numbers printed on the back many famous cricketers world wide expressed disappointment over the new plan.
Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar termed the idea of names and numbers printed on the back of players as "awful". He also demanded the reversal of decision.
Shoaib took to social media stating that the decision was taking away the traditional spirit from the longest format of the game. "Player's name & number on the white Test Match kit looks awful. Should not be there. Takes away from the traditional spirit in which the game is played. This decision should be reversed," Shoaib wrote on his Twitter handle.
Even before Akhtar could come with with his opinion, former Australia cricketers Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee and India spinner R Ashwin also expressed their disappointment on the same. All their tweets are given below:
In the early part of this year, the ICC had made plans to announce that players of Test-playing nations need to sport their names and numbers on their jerseys.
