Shikar Dhawan Compares Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as Captains, Says What is Different!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsShikar Dhawan who is playing a crucial role in adding solidity to team India's top order has gone candid about his current form, T20 World Cup and batting with Rohit Sharma in an exclusive interview to Hindustan Times.
Speaking about his performance in the T20I against Bangladesh, Dhawan said," Yes, I was a bit slow in the Delhi T20I. But that’s because I tried to bat differently because of the pitch. I know, 50 off 43 balls would have been a lot better than the 40 odd I got but yeah, I learnt." However, he says he has been practising hard and hopefully everything will fall into place by the time T20 world cup comes.
Shikar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma share an intense understanding both on and off the field. Recently, we also saw a video of Dhawan playing with Rohit's daughter Samaira. About his relationship with Rohit on the field, Dhawan said, “Playing with Rohit for so many years has helped the bonding to grow automatically. We understand each other’s game very well. It’s in auto mode now. After playing for so many years, you get a feeling on what to do in different situations."
While speculations revolving around splitting the captaincy between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are making rounds, Dhawan feels that they both are different in making decisions. “They are different characters. In different situations, they make different choices. Whatever they feel right at one particular moment, they go with it. They, of course, discuss with each other. When Rohit is leading, he discusses with me, when Virat is leading he discusses with Rohit and me too.”
