Video: CSK Star Shane Watson Shares 'Emotional' Clip; Has A Message For Super Fans 

As Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 adventure comes to an end, Australian all-rounder Shane Watson took fans by shock and announced his retirement from the franchise.

Watson, who had already retired from international cricket in 2016, has now hanged his boots in the IPL 2020 and all forms of cricket.

With his poor performance in the season, Watson was in and out of the CSK team in IPL 2020. His last game for the Yellow Army was against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on October 29.

Taking to social media, Shane Watson announced the big news on his official Twitter handle. Watson tweeted, “This closing chapter is going to be so hard to top, but I am going to try. I truly am forever grateful to have lived this amazing dream. Now onto the next exciting one…#thankyou”. 

Meanwhile, he also revealed the news of his retirement by uploading an emotional video on his YouTube channel. In the video, the CSK star recalled his cricket journey in both the international circuit and domestic leagues.

He also thanked various people including his sister, parents, coaches, mentors and teammates who made him what he is today. “The first people I want to thank is my mum and dad, who did everything they could to make me realize my dream. My mum and dad sacrificed so much,” he said in the video.

“To think that I am finishing up my playing days as a 39-years-old after all of the injury setbacks that I had along the way, I feel so ridiculously fortunate.” Shane concluded.In his IPL career of 13 years, the former all-rounder represented Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before being picked by CSK in 2018.
