Virender Sehwag Reveals Prediction On Ganguly Becoming BCCI Chief Came True, One More To Go!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsEver since former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly took charge as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), his teammates and cricket fraternity are still in full spirit to support him.
Recently, Virender Sehwag revealed he had predicted that Ganguly will become the president of BCCI back in 2007 and it finally came true. He further stated that he also predicts that 'Dada' will become the Chief Minister of West Bengal one day and he is now waiting for his other prediction to come true.
According to The Indian Express report, Virender Sehwag wrote: "Actually, when I first heard about Dada becoming president, I recalled an incident during the 2007 South Africa tour. It was a Test in Cape Town where me and Wasim Jaffer were out early. Tendulkar was to bat No.4 but couldn't take the field. Out of the blue, Ganguly was asked to go out and bat. This was a comeback series and there was pressure. But the way he batted, the way he handled pressure and tension, only he could do."
"That day we all agreed in the dressing room that if anyone among us can become BCCI president, it's Dada. I said he can even be the Bengal Chief Minister. Ek bhavishyavani poori ho gayi, aur ek baaki hai (One of my predictions has come true, let's wait and see about the other one)," excited Sehwag added.
Ganguly took over as the BCCI president on October 23.
