Former Indian batsman and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has always been in the news; either for his comments or remarks on cricketers. This time again he is in the news, after he posted a picture of himself and Australian legend Glenn McGrath.

Manjrekar has earlier trended on social media for the wrong reasons. He is well-known for his knack for coming up with controversial statements and then facing criticism from fans and cricket experts.

Few months back, he was sacked by the BCCI from its commentary panel after his remarks went on air. He recently too, faced criticism for his comments against Indian all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. However, both the all-rounders impressed and shocked him with their batting in ODI series against Australia.

Coming back to Manjrekar's photo, he took to Twitter and posted a picture of himself and Australian great Glenn McGrath. He captioned the photo saying, “950 international wickets in one frame. Glen – 949 Me – 1."

This comment has left fans and cricketers in splits. Hours after the photo went viral, India ace bowler Ravichandran Ashwin re-tweeted the tweet and wrote: “Dead”, with a laughing emojis.

Meanwhile, Ashwin is all set to be in action when Team India A lock horns against Australia A during the three-day practice game, which begins from Sunday (December 6).

Ashwin is not a part of India’s limited-overs squad but is a part of the Test squad. However, the four-match Test series is scheduled to begin on December 17 in Adelaide.
