"Don't have problem with Ravindra Jadeja, but..." Sanjay Manjrekar Makes Hard Hitting Statement 

After Team India suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Australia in a three-match One-Day International series, cricket fans and experts are blaming Virat Kohli’s bad captaincy for India’s loss. 

With Australians scoring 374 and 389 runs in the first and second matches, respectively, bowler Jasprit Bumrah and the other Indian bowlers made it next to impossible for the batsmen to chase down such massive totals. 

Amid all the criticism, former BCCI commentator has taken this time to revisit his problems with having players like Ravindra Jadeja in white-ball cricket.

Noted commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has opened up on Ravindra Jadeja and said that he doesn't have any problem with the Indian all-rounder. 

In a recent interview with The Hindu, Manjrekar said “My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learnt over the years: if you have specialists who can walk in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players.”

“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusionary value to the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format," he added. 

In 2019, Manjrekar made headlines during India’s World Cup campaign when he called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ player after the cricketer responded to Manjrekar’s comments on Twitter negatively.  Later in the year, fans criticised him for questioning Harsha Bhogle's credentials on the air during the historic pink-ball Test between India and Bangladesh.

Taking a look at the recent match, Jadeja smacked two sixes and a four in 11 balls to register 24 runs during India’s 390-run chase against Australia in the 2nd ODI on Sunday in Sydney but was dismissed by Pat Cummins. Sadly, India lost the match by 51 runs.
