It's Confirmed! Saina Nehwal To Tie The Knot With Fellow Badminton Player Parupalli Kashyap; Details Inside
Home > Sports newsIndian badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are all set to get married on December 16,2018. Former world number 1 player Saina Nehwal confirmed the reports that have been doing rounds for a few weeks.
Both Nehwal and Kashyap are said to have been dating for the past 10 years. Nehwal confirmed news of her wedding to the Times of India. This is the first time the players have acknoledged their relationship publicly.
"We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other's matches,” Saina told the Times of India.
“In the competitive world that we live in, it is difficult to get close to someone. But somehow we both found it very easy to talk to each other, talk about our matches. The feeling gradually grew,” she added.
Revealing details of their relationship, Nehwal added that the thought of settling down never crossed their mind due to the intense demands of the sport. As for the reason for picking December 16 for the wedding date, Saina said that was the only date the two of them would have any time for themselves!
