During the third day of the fourth Test by Australia’s fastest bowler, England captain Joe Root was left in pain after being hit in the guard by Mitchell Starc at the Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester on Friday.
According to Times Now report, it was a 140 kmph delivery from Starc which hit Root's box and left him in agony. Following which, Root went down on the ground in pain and was attended by the team medical staff before resuming batting.
Starc, who played for the first time in the Ashes 2019, has been impressive with the ball.
After defeating England for 301 in their first innings, Australia scored 186/6 in their second innings and extended their lead to 382 runs in the Test match.
