Team India batsman Rohit Sharma has always been in bad books when it comes to Indian fans. People on social media never miss a chance to hit out at him either for his good message or bad.

Recently again he was trolled, after he took to his social media handle stating that nothing was worth cutting down trees in Mumbai's Aarey Colony.

He took to his twitter handle and said "even if there is more to the story, nothing is worth cutting down something so vital. Part of Mumbai being slightly greener and slight difference in the temperature is mainly because of Aarey Colony. How can we take that away, not to mention the thousands of animals who will displace".

Rohit Sharma's tweet came days after the Bombay High Court had on October 4 allowed the Maharashtra government to go ahead with the cutting of trees for the upcoming Metro project in the city. After which the state management moved swiftly to cut trees which totally miffed the city.

According to NDTV sports report, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corp. (MMRC) planned to cut 2,600 trees for the proposed shed. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has put a stay on further cutting of trees until the next hearing.
