Ravi Shastri Sends Out Warning About Rishabh Pant; Is KL Rahul At Advantage?
Home > News Shots > Sports newsWe can say that Rishabh Pant hasn’t had it easy. His progress, be it when facing the bowler or behind the stumps, at the best, has been average as far as recent times are considered. Now, looks like KL Rahul is strongly being favoured for the wicketkeeping position, not to forget the Karnataka lad is scoring well with the bat as well; prompting many to ask what’s to become of Pant in the future. Not long ago, Gautam Gambhir had also raised the same question.
Sometime back, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Chief Sourav Ganguly had refused to be drawn into the debate surrounding Rahul or Pant being the wicketkeeper and had merely said, “Virat Kohli takes that decision. The team management and captain decide the role of KL Rahul.”
KL Rahul too had responded saying it’s not up to him when a journo had asked him if Pant would be back in the Indian team soon.
Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has broken his silence over the matter and said, “He has to work really hard on his wicketkeeping. He is not a natural ‘keeper but he’s got all that talent which will go to waste if he doesn’t work on his keeping. I think he has realised that and if you see him now, he is working extremely hard on his ‘keeping as well.”
Well, we hope that as much as Rahul is doing well, Pant also has some good times ahead.
