Not just kiwi fans but even Indian fans adored Kane’s matured personality and the way he carried himself throughout the CWC 19 tournament.
Two days after the nail-biting finals of the World Cup, Ravi Shastri tweeted, “Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless. #CWC19”(sic)
He has shared the picture of Kane Williamson receiving the player of the tournament award from Sachin Tendulkar. Earlier Sachin Tendulkar also praised the Kiwi skipper saying, “#KaneWilliamson continues to impress. Loved the way he played & carried himself & his team right through the #CWC19.#ManOfTheMatch #ManOfTheTournament” (sic)
On the grounds of ICC rules, New Zealand was declared lost in the World Cup even after their brilliant performance on par with English players. However, Kane Williamson remained unaltered and gracefully accepted the decision by holding all his emotions. The photo where he was seen grinning out of surprise after the player of the tournament announcement went viral on the internet.
