It Seems This Young Cricketer Has No Luck; Joining Indian Team for WI Tour is Doubtful
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAs the World Cup 2019 has come to an end, the recent focus is on other series and the ICC’s World Test Championship, which is all set to begin with Australia in the 5-day format, The Ashes. So following this, team India will take on West Indies in August as a part of the same Championship.
As per CricTracker report, Team India will be travelling to the Caribbean to play three T20s and three ODIs and two Tests next month. The Men in Blue will play two Tests against the West Indies beginning on August 22 in Antigua.
But something which takes everyone by shock is, Prithvi Shaw, the one who made his Test debut against the same team last year, might not travel with the team this year. He has also said that he is not sure when he would recover from his hip injury. He had scored 353 runs with two half-centuries and a top score of 99 for Delhi Capitals in the IPL this season.
"I'm still not a 100 percent fit and don't know exactly how much time it will take to recover, the process is going on. There is still time and I'm working with the physios. I can't put a time frame on it right now," Shaw told reporters recently.
"Obviously the West Indies tour is coming and we will look into the preparation for the series together," Shaw added.
Meanwhile, the official heads will be announcing the names of the members on 19 July while Shaw seems to be having a bad luck with his recovery.
