Prithvi Shaw To Miss 2nd Test Against New Zealand; Increases Tension For Team India!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsCricket fans are worried after Indian Batsman Prithvi Shaw missed Thursday's training session for the upcoming match. Prithvi Shaw, missed his training due to a swelling on his left foot, which is increasing team India's worries as the second Test against New Zealand will take place on Saturday.
According to India Today reports, Shaw will undergo a blood test on Thursday to know the reason of the swelling. If the medical reports are in his favour, a decision will be taken during Friday's practice session. And if the swelling prolongs, then Shaw will not be making it to the playing XI.
Talks are on as, Shubman Gill is expected to open the innings alongside Mayank Agarwal, if Shaw is unable to make it, India Today further reported. Meanwhile, head coach Ravi Shastri was also seen paying extra attention to Gill during practice session.
Currently, the Indian team management is praying that the swelling should not be a serious concern for Shaw and the team. Earlier in the week, skipper and captain Virat Kohli said that he has confidence in Shaw's ability to perform well because of his destructive ability on the field.
