IPL Franchises Share Movie Posters; Shreyas Iyer Poster Breaks Internet!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDuring the recent 92nd Academy Awards, famous star Joaquin Phoenix ruled social media after he was awarded for the best actor in a leading role for 'Joker'. The award which was held on February 9, had 24 categories, in which there were hundreds of nominees and one trophy to rule them all.
In between all the pomp and show, the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises like Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab took to social media and recreated their own movie posters for the awards.
Rajasthan Royals shared a poster with star cricketers that involved Shane Watson, Rahul Dravid and Shane Warner. They also had Graeme Smith and Yusuf Pathan who used to be a regular feature of the franchise once.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals also joined them and shared Andre Russell, Prithvi Shaw and Kagiso Rabada on the cover poster. Within minutes, Kings XI Punjab recreated and shared the poster of '1917'. Through this poster, they honored India's junior cricketer Ravi Bishnoi (U19), who was World Cup's highest wicket-taker.
Coming back to the Oscars 2020, it is one of the biggest Hollywood award ceremonies; other than Joaquin Phoenix ruling the stage Renée Zellweger also took home the award for the best actress in a leading role. Not forgetting, South Korean film 'Parasite' won the best motion picture award. With this win, they became the first foreign-language film to win the accolade.
