Other players released by the franchise include Ashton Turner, Oshane Thomas, Shubham Ranjane, Prashant Chopra, Ish Sodhi, Aryaman Birla, Jaydev Unadkat, Rahul Tripathi, Stuart Binny, Liam Livingstone and Sudheshan Midhun.
Meanwhile, a Mumbai Indians fan asked Rajasthan Royals to trade Steve Smith to their side. "Hey @rajasthanroyals... Why don't you give steve smith to @mipaltan? We fans of Mumbai Indians want him!!" the tweet read. In response, Rajasthan Royals said "Everybody wants Steve!"
In a sudden twist of events, the fan later requested Rajasthan Royals to not leave Smith at any cost and said the franchise will reap the result of Smith captaining their side in IPL 2020. "I request @rajasthanroyals not to leave @stevesmith49 at any cost .... and not to change him as captain!!! He is such a talented person @rajasthanroyals will know the result in 2020 for sure. With Steve as captain .... the team will be on top of the table."
