"MS Dhoni May Even End His Career": S Sreesanth Slams Ben Stokes Over 'Showed No Intent' Remark
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDhoni's slow knock during the 338-run chase against England at Edgbaston during the ICC World Cup 2019 invited a lot of criticism. England eventually won the match.
"Arguably, the way MS Dhoni played when he came in with 112 runs needed from 11 overs was even stranger. He appeared more intent on singles than sixes. Even with a dozen balls remaining, India could still have won....there was little or no intent from him (Dhoni) or his partner Kedar Jadhav. To me, while victory is still possible you always go for broke," Stokes wrote in his soon-to-be-published book.
Now, S Sreesanth has come out all guns blazing to shun Stokes. During a recent Instagram live session, Sreesanth challenged Stokes for a face-off in order to settle scores with him, only for his remarks against Dhoni.
Sreesanth told, “I hope Ben Stokes wishes he never plays against Dhoni, because he (Dhoni) doesn’t forget anything."
“I wish Stokes all the best because if during the IPL or an India-England match, him and Dhoni cross paths again, whatever the one or two million Stokes has been getting, it’ll all go away. Dhoni may even end his career.”
“I openly challenge Stokes to dismiss Dhoni, irrespective of whether he’s the No. 1 allrounder in the world. Ben Stokes, you’ve been playing for the last four to five years and since I wasn’t playing, I am really looking forward to bowl to you brother. Just to give an answer to what you said about Dhoni," he added.
