Former Indian Cricketer In Trouble, Booked For Allegedly Cheating Travel Agent

Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin is currently making headlines for allegedly cheating a local travel agent. An FIR was also registered against Azharuddin and two others for allegedly cheating the travel agent of around Rs 2.10 million.

Meanwhile, Investigating Officer A.D. Nagre confirmed the news stating that the police is yet to arrest any accused in this case. He also confirmed that the investigation is still underway. 

According to India Today reports, the complaint was filed by Shahab Y. Mohammed, 49, proprietor of Danish Tours & Travels in Aurangabad, who was also a former executive with the defunct Jet Airways.

While speaking to news agency IANS, A.D. Nagre, of the City Chowk police station said, "We have lodged a first information report against Mujeeb Khan (Aurangabad), Sudheesh Avikkal (Kerala), Mohammad Azharuddin (Hyderabad). No arrests have been made and further investigations are underway." 

As per the complainant, Shahab alleged that he booked various international flight tickets worth Rs 20.96 lakh for Azharuddin and two others in November 2019. He booked the tickets on the request of the former India captain's personal assistant Mujib Khan. Shahab later alleged that he was promised payment online, but he did not receive any money. 

Shahab further stated that when he asked for the payment, Khan's associate Sudesh Awakkal sent an e-mail saying he has transferred Rs 10.6 lakh to him, but it was not received, IANS further reported.
