After years of retirement, Sachin Tendulkar batted an over in Australia's Bushfire Cricket Bash. Therefore, Mumbai Indians urged his fans to bat for him by voting in the popular Laureus Sporting Moment.
"@sachin_rt came out of retirement yesterday to bat for an over against Elyse Perry. You too can bat for him by simply voting for his 'Carried on the shoulders of a nation' moment in the final round of Laureus Sporting Moment," (sic) tweeted Mumbai Indians along with the link to vote for Sachin.
Laureus is a global organisation that celebrates sporting excellence and uses the power of sport to transform the lives of children and young people. The organisation has compiled many sporting moments around the world for audience polling. As per Mumbai Indian's tweet, fans can vote until February 15 i.e. before February 16.
Carried on the shoulders of a nation
India won the world cup under the Captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2011 after 28 years in home soil. After the historic victory, the young team India players including today's skipper Virat Kohli carried Sachin on their shoulders.
