Mayank Agarwal Reaches 30-year-old Feat as Opener; Creates History!

India opener Mayank Agarwal created history in the 1st Test against New Zealand at Wellington when he became only the second Indian opener after Manoj Prabhakar and first in 30 years to survive the first session of a Test match in New Zealand.

Prabhakar smashed 95 off 268 balls while achieving the same feat 30 years ago in the 2nd Test in Napier against the Kiwis.

Despite batsmen like Prithvi Shaw (16), Cheteshwar Pujara (11) and Virat Kohli (2) losing wickets, Agarwal stood firm against quality bowling from Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson and smashed 34 runs off 84 balls. He was then dismissed by Boult.

At the end of the day's play, India were 122/5 with Ajinkya Rahane and Rishab Pant remaining not out on 38 and 10 respectively.
