It was a breath taking match, after Veteran Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga made history as he took four wickets in four deliveries during the third and final T20I against New Zealand at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

With this record, Malinga entered his name in record books. He has scalped the wickets of Colin Munro, Hamish Rutherford, Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor and easily broke the backbone of the Kiwi batting line-up.

This is not the first time that Malinga has done so, he once achieved a similar record in the 2007 50-over World Cup in South Africa where he took four wickets in as many deliveries.

Malinga has many laurels to his name, he has also became the first cricketer in the history of the format to go past 100 wickets.

In the video, Malinga can be seen smashing Munro’s stumps with the help of a fast yorker. Soon then, Rutherford was next, who got dismissed as he was trapped LBW. To which, the on-field umpire’s decision was not out but Sri Lanka opted to use the DRS and replays showed the ball was crashing into the stumps.

Following that, De Granhomme became Malinga’s third target and finally Ross Taylor was adjudged LBW as the fast yoker trapped him in front of the wicket.

With Malinga’s heroic takes, Sri Lanka won the match by 37 runs.
