Home > News Shots > Sports newsAdhering to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for a Janata Curfew from 7 am to 9 pm on March 22 in order to combat the further spread of Covid-19, all the otherwise busy roads and streets across the country are deserted.
India cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to say that Indians have made an unbelievable start to the Janata Curfew.
"Unbelievable start to the #JanataCurfew, pin drop silence as they used to say in school. Hope this is extended beyond this day and social distancing can be adhered to In the days to come," wrote Ashwin.
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra also supported the Janata Curfew by saying that he is going to stay behind closed doors for several days to come. He urged people to start a revolution by observing the Janata curfew on March 22 and then continue it for 14 days.
