Former Indian Batsman Applies For Team India's Head Coach Job
Home > News Shots > Sports newsEver since World Cup 2019 got over, the Indian cricket team's head coach position has been vacant and multiple candidates have applied for the post.
Recently, former Indian cricket team's manager Lalchand Rajput has joined the race for the job of team India's head coach.
As per WahCricket.com, Rajput, who is currently the coach of Zimbabwe cricket team has shown his interest in the Indian job. His interest comes weeks after ICC has suspended Zimbabwe Cricket for government interference.
Rajput had sent his application to the BCCI from Dubai airport, while he was on his way to Canada, WahCricket further reported.
Earlier in the month, the BCCI had invited applications for other positions in the team like head coach, batting coach, bowling coach and fielding coach. The last day for these position is July 30.
Team India's new coaching set-up will be selected by BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee that comprises of Kapil Dev, former head coach Anshuman Gaikwad and Shantha Rangaswamy.
