India had convincingly won the 3rd T20 against West Indies in Guyana on August 6 (Tuesday). The Indian skipper Virat Kohli was all happy over winning the series by 3-0 and he hailed the young Wicket-Keeper batsman Rishabh Pant for his great potential and talked about how his innings will be crucial in the future.

Virat Kohli was clearly impressed with the way Rishabh Pant finished the game before building his innings in the 3rd T20. Rishabh Pant partnered with Virat Kohli to chase down the target of 147 runs with five balls to spare. Though, Pant failed to prove his batting ability in the first two T20 internationals, his 65 runs in the 3rd game not just helped India win the game but also created a record. In fact, Rishabh Pant has surpassed Dhoni’s 56runs in T20 and became the first Wicket-Keeper batsman of India to have scored the most number of runs in a T20.

In the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli said, "We are looking at Rishabh as the future, definitely. Got a lot of skill and talent. It's about winning and finishing games like these. In International cricket, you need to tackle pressure differently”.

Rishabh Pant's 106 run partnership with Virat has created a good impact on the skipper and the probability to make Rishabh Pant’s consistent presence in the playing XI can be really high. Rishabh Pant has always had immense respect for Mahendra Singh Dhoni whom he had claimed his mentor on different occasions. Though replacing MSD behind the stumps might be challenging for Pant, he is more likely to be thankful to Dhoni for stepping away from the current series which has led him to prove himself.
