Bumrah being Rested, Kohli decided to Play against WI only for this Reason?
Home > News Shots > Sports newsVirat Kohli has been named as the captain in all three forms in the West Indies tour in the squad picked by BCCI on Sunday. Initially, Kohli was planning to rest post World Cup, but later, he decided to play in the series.
Bumrah, who has played spectacularly in the ICC World Cup 2019, was rested for the limited over series. Dhoni opted out of the series and Rishabh Pant was included as wicketkeeper-batsman.
After the loss in India's world cup campaign, many voices were raised against Kohli and they asked Rohit Sharma to be made as captain of the team as Kohli, though a consistent batsman, did not win any major tournament.
Reportedly, there are speculations that that is why Kohli opted to play and not rest during the series, reports Gulf News. Rohit Sharma has also won IPL tournament for Mumbai Indians under his captaincy.
