In a bizarre case, Australia opener Jake Fraser-McGurk suffered an injury during a team outing. He will now return back home from the U-19 World Cup in South Africa. Fraser-McGurk, who had gone out with his teammates had a small encounter with a monkey that scratched his face.

His absences will be felt in the team and soon after the incident McGurk in an official statement said, "You never like to be leaving the boys with the tournament still in progress. But I'm confident we have the team to get the job done in the final two matches."

"I guess it serves me right for getting too close to the animal enclosure. That's a lesson learned. I look forward to completing the treatment and getting back on the field as soon as possible. I would like to thank all the staff from the nature reserve and Cricket Australia for their care and support," he further added.

Highlighting about his performance, Fraser-McGurk was run out for a duck during their U-19 World Cup Super League Quarter-Final 1 match against India yesterday. Meanwhile, Australia badly faced a 74-run defeat against India and the team got bowled out for 159 while chasing 234.
