Will Jadeja repeat his magic against New Zealand now with MSD?
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIn the reserve day match, New Zealand posted a total of 240 for India to get through the semi-final game. Though it was a hard surface to bat on as per the reports, India lost their wickets in a flash. The three top-order batsmen, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli went after scoring just one run each.
While Rishab Pant and Dinesh Karthik paired up, Matt Henry who took first two wickets broken the partnership by taking Dinesh Karthik’s wicket when he scored just 6 runs out of 25 balls. Hardik Pandya and MSD partnership failed after Hardik Pandya was dismissed at 32 off 65 balls by Santner.
Now, with Jadeja and MSD on strike, Indian fans could expect a twist since Ravindra Jadeja had already done it in 2014 in Auckland against New Zealand. While India was desperately looking for a break-through to chase down a target of 315 after losing 6 wickets for 184 runs, Jadeja came in, to rescue the team.
Jadeja knocked a brilliant 66 runs in partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin who contributed 65 runs and tied the match. Therefore, in today’s match, we could expect the same from the Rajput boy with MSD on the other side. It has to be noted that the MSD and Jadeja also had great partnerships in the past.
