Harbhajan Singh too Opting Out from IPL 2020? - Here is What CSK official Confirm!

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has turned out to be an absolute disaster for top team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). With days left for the much awaited tournament to begin, the Super Kings camp seems to be in a complete mess. 

After star cricketer Suresh Raina left from Dubai due to personal reasons; the team is still in quarantine as few members tested positive days ago. 

As per Times of India (ToI) report, CSK squad has extended their quarantine period to 14 days after 13 members of their contingent including two players – Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad – tested positive for COVID-19. But with the latest updates, all 13 members have tested negative after the recent test taken.

The big news here is - the three-time champions team can soon witness another setback where veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh is contemplating giving IPL 2020 a miss.

As per Insidesport report, Harbhajan Singh is scheduled to fly for Dubai on Tuesday but the COVID-19 cases in the Super Kings camp has left him worried. “Harbhajan is due to join the team on Tuesday. But the situation with Chennai Super Kings currently, has left him very worried. He may rejig his schedules or even decide to skip the IPL this year,” a source close to the player said.

Recently, a top CSK official opened up on Singh's absence from the CSK camp. "He was to join the team on 1st September but he has again deferred his arrival. We don’t know when he’s coming or whether he’s coming at all as he has not updated us (management) on his decision. Him pulling out of IPL is all speculation at the moment," the official told Times Now.   

Earlier last month, Harbhajan Singh had also skipped the pre-season camp which was held from August 15 to 20. IPL 2020 is scheduled to start on September 19 while the final is on November 10.
