Brett Lee Reveals ONE ‘Great Thing’ About MS Dhoni, Says ‘Hats off to MSD'!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIn IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) haven't been at their best even after winning just two of the opening five matches. After their low performance in the last few games, CSK opener Shane Watson became a hot topic of discussion.
Amid talks and rumours on the opening partnership, CSK produced a 10-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the previous match where Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson remained unbeaten and made history.
Recently, former Australian cricketer Brett Lee, lauded Dhoni for not giving up on Watson after 4 consecutive flop outings by the Aussie veteran. Lee, has become a commentator/pundit for broadcaster Star Sports this IPL season.
“The great thing about MS Dhoni is he believes his players, commits to the XI that are there. He also backs the 13-14 that are there if there’s an injury. It’s the XI he believes in, commits to the team. They played so well and as they say, the lions will sleep pretty well tonight,” Brett Lee said.
Lately, Dhoni's captaincy was under question because of the batting unit's failure. Dhoni, who had kept himself down in the batting order was asked for Watson to be axed but the CSK skipper persisted. After Watson finally proved himself, Lee doffed his hat off to Dhoni.
“Hats off to MSD for providing Watson with that opportunity and backing his teammate. Watto came out and totally dominated it. The way he went down the line and didn’t go across the line the last few games he went across the line. When he is on form, he can do it but Shane Watson, tonight, was on fire,” he added.
As per the IPL 2020 schedule, CSK will lock horns next against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday.
