First Time! Kolkata To Host IPL 2020 Auction On December, Fans Excited
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe much awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) is near and fans are overjoyed for it to begin but much before that the auction needs to take place.
For the very first time, the IPL auction 2020 will be held on December 19 in Kolkata. It was always held in silicon city- Bengaluru but recently BCCI decided to conduct the auctions at a new venue.
As per ESPNcricinfo, the 2020 IPL auction will be the last small one before franchises disband next year and prepare to assemble fresh squads from 2021.
During 2018, the auction was held in January when franchises were allowed to keep five players before making a new team. But not anymore as the trading window for all the eight franchises will close on November 14.
Sharing details on the IPL auction, all eight teams were originally allotted INR 85 crore to build their own teams for next year’s edition, ESPNcricinfo further reported.
So currently, Delhi Capitals has the higgest balance of Rs 8.2 crore after that Rajasthan Royals follows with Rs 7.15 crore. Third comes Kolkata Knight Riders with Rs 6.05 crore while fourth is Sunrisers Hyderabad with Rs 5.3 crore. Sadly, on the fifth Kings XI Punjab comes with Rs 3.7 crore while Chennai Super Kings is sixth with Rs 3.2 crore and Mumbai Indians with Rs 3.05 crore in the seventh and Royal Challengers Bangalore with Rs 1.8 crore in the last position.
