IPL Releases Players List; Top 2 Star Players Opt Out of IPL 2020 Auction
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe IPL 2020 player auction is scheduled on December 19 at Kolkata and the management has released the number of registered players for the auction. According to the IPL official website, the VIVO IPL Player Registration closed on 30th November. At the end of the registration process, 971 players signed up to be a part of the IPL 2020 Auction.
713 Indian and 258 overseas players form the part of the 971 registered players. Following is the break-down of players who are signed up for the auction.
- Capped Indian (19 players)
- Uncapped Indian (634 players)
- Uncapped Indians who have played at least 1 IPL match (60 players)
- Capped International (196 players)
- Uncapped International (60 players)
- Associate (2 players)
Among the above-listed number of players, two of the most anticipated players from England and Australia have opted out of the auction.
Australian pace phenomenon, Mitchell Starc opted out of the IPL 2020 auction while England's Test captain Joe Root also joined the list.
However, other Australian players, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh and Chris Lynn have grabbed the auction list by setting their base price at 2 Cr. The South African star players, Dale Steyn and Chris Morris have also rolled in their names.
