They deserve to get a game: Kohli hints at making changes in the Playing XI!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAfter winning the 3rd T20I and taking a 3-0 lead in the 5-match T20I series against New Zealand, India skipper Virat Kohli said they will now experiment with the other players in the squad who are yet to post a show.
“We will try to win 5-0. There are a couple of guys who are sitting out like Sundar and Saini, they deserve to get a game. The idea is to win the remaining two games,” Kohli said.
It was Rohit Sharma who shouldered India's hopes of a win after the 3rd T20I ended up in a Super Over. When India needed 10 runs off the last two balls, Rohit struck two sixes to hand New Zealand another Super Over loss.
“Yeah, unbelievable. I thought at one stage we were gone, and down and out,” Kohli said up on recounting the final moments of the game.
Kohli was all praise for Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson for putting up a tough fight till the last minute.
“Kane [Williamson] batting on 95, he played a brilliant innings and I was just telling our coach they probably deserved to finish the game off the way he batted and led from the front. [I] feel bad for him, these kind of knocks when they don’t go through, I know what that feeling is," Kohli said.
