Ravindra Jadeja Creates World Record in Test Cricket!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsTeam India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja added a new feather to his cap on the third day of the first Test match against South Africa in Vishakapatnam Today (October 3).
As soon as Jadeja removed Dean Elgar, he reached the 200-wicket mark in Test cricket and in the process, he also surpassed star bowlers including Rangana Herath, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc and Wasim Akram to become the fastest left-arm bowler to achieve the milestone.
Jadeja has taken just 44 matches to reach the feet, while Herath took 47 matches, Johnson 49, Starc 50 and Akram 51. Jadeja has also become the second fastest Indian bowler to record 200 Test wickets, first being Ravichandran Ashwin.
Before Ashwin dismissed South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis for the fifth wicket, the latter along with Elgar, stood for 40 overs and managed to pull their team out of trouble by adding 164 runs.
