Kohli Took New Zealand Captain's Wicket In 2008; Fans Demand The Same: WATCH Rare Video
Home > News Shots > Sports newsHours before, team India can take on New Zealand at Old Trafford in Manchester in the first semifinal of World Cup 2019 on Tuesday. A rare video is going viral where Indian Captain Virat Kohli can be seen taking New Zealand captain Kane Williamson's wicket which was during the Semi Final of U-19 World Cup in 2008.
Little did they know that they would square off again as captains of the senior sides and lock horn with each other. According to Times Now report, India went on to lift the trophy in 2008, it was Kohli who took the wicket of Williamson to help the team bag the title.
As the two stalwarts come face to face, the memories of the 2008 U-19 semi-final will be triggered. While Kohli would hope for a similar result as that of the one his team achieved 11 years ago, Williamson will have his sights set on settling the score, Times Now further reported.
At a recent pre-match press conference, Kohli said "I think it's a really nice memory and we'll both feel good about this is happening. Obviously neither him nor me could have anticipated that one day this will happen, but yeah it's a really nice thing."
"I got Kane’s wicket, really??? I don’t think this will happen again,” the Indian skipper remarked while ruling out the possibility of taking Williamson's wicket again.
