Legendary Cricketer Blasts 'Illegal' Comments on Bumrah's Bowling Action!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe second Test match between India and West Indies brought with it sheer happiness for Jasprit Bumrah. The fast bowler has become the third India player after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan to pick up hat-trick wickets in Test cricket. He dismissed Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks and Roston Chase successively in the ninth over.
While the stadium was busy celebrating Bumrah’s historic moment, Former Windies pacer and now commentator Ian Bishop said a statement that shook everybody including Sunil Gavaskar. “Some people had questioned thec legality of Bumrah’s bowling action,” he said.
Expressing his shock and disbelief towards the statement, Bishop further said, “I cannot believe some people questioning the legality of Jasprit Bumrah’s action. His action is unique but is well within the rules of the game. In fact, it’s one of the cleanest ones. Some people really need to look in the mirror.”
Then when Gavaskar asked Bishop to name those people who question Bumrah’s action, he did not name any and the duo went to explain the pacer’s action.
“Let’s take a look at it closely… A few steps and then he gathers momentum and finally releases the ball with a straight arm. Now tell me at what point is his arm is bent? It’s perfectly fine. People should really get a life,” Gavaskar was quoted as saying by DNA.
