How much Virat Kohli and other Indian Cricketers are Paid as Salary from BCCI? - Comparison with Pakistan players!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the new central contracts for its cricket players on Wednesday. Babar Azam, Azhar Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi are the top earning players as per this list.
As per Media Reports, there have been improvements in thepaygrade for few players. The salaries however were a revelation of sorts for everyone since they could now compare it with the salaries of their Indian Counterparts.
The PCB has divided the players into three categories, A, B and C and these are the respective salaries of players that fall under these categories:
A Category: 1.1 Million PKR (USD 6,798) monthly = 13.2 Million PKR (USD 81,576) annually
Players in the category- Babar Azam, Azhar Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi
B Category: 750,000 PKR (USD 4,635) monthly = 9 Million PKR (USD 55,627) annually
Players in the category- Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Abbas, Shadab Khan, Abid Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shan Masood, Yasir Shah
C Category: 550,000 PKR (USD 3,400) monthly = 6.6 Million PKR (USD 40,793) annually
Players in the category- Fakhar Zaman, Imad Wasim, Imam-ul-Haq, Naseem Shah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Shinwari
The Board of Control for Cricket in India divides players into A+, A, B and C categories respectively. Their salaries have been mentioned below.
Grade A+: INR 7 crore (USD 927,336) annually
Players in the category- Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah
Grade A: INR 5 crore (USD 662,383) annually
Players in the category- Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant
Grade B: INR 3 crore (USD 397,430) annually
Players in the category- Wriddhiman Saha, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Mayank Agarwal
Grade C: INR 1 crore (USD 132,476) annually
Players in the category- Kedar Jadhav, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Manish Pandey, Hanuma Vihari, Shardul Thakur, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar
When their Salaries are compared one could notice that the difference between the pay is huge especially among the top players in each category.
A single Indian Cricket Player in Grade B is the same as the combined salaries of Pakistan’s top three players in the Grade A category.
The overall amount spent on Cricket Players in all categories is almost equal to what Indian Captain Viral Kohli earns annually through his BCCI Contract.
