The 13th season of the Indian Premier League is all set to begin from September 17 at the UAE. This year’s league has been scheduled after being postponed by several months in view of the global pandemic.
All the teams have already reached UAE and have started training for the league. A strict bio-bubble has been in order and the BCCI has taken precautionary measures to ensure that the players are safe and sound.
However, several reports now claim that this IPL might be the last one for some of the prominent cricketers. Three of them are suspected to not play IPL from the next year.
Harbhajan Singh, the ‘turbanator’ has been one of the most successful bowlers in the history of IPL. Last season, he picked 16 wickets in 11 games. However, it is said that he is likely to not be in the league from the 14th edition onwards.
IPL 2020 is also expected to be the last one for the legendary Sri Lankan Bowler, Lasith Malinga. He has played around 122 games and has banged over 170 wickets. He is one of the highest wicket takers in IPL. Last season, he was picked by Mumbai Indians and he helped a great deal in the dinals of IPL 2019.
Dale Steyn, fast bowler, has been performing a great deal in IPL. However, due to an unfortunate shoulder injury in 2019, he only played two games that season. Owing to several injuries, this approaching season might mark his farewell.
